Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about PaySlipPro, UIF registration, COIDA compliance, and domestic worker employment.
General & Compliance
What's in the R499.99 compliance package?
UIF registration (uFiling), COIDA registration (household Risk Class 16D), and a BCEA-compliant employment contract (hours, NMW reference, leave, notice, termination). Normal price R999.99 — special price R499.99 until 31 May 2026.
Do I need this for my domestic worker?
If they work more than 24 hours per month, UIF is mandatory. COIDA registration for domestic employers has been required since the Mahlangu judgment. Fines and personal liability for injuries can be severe — our materials reference R10,000+ per violation class.
What if my worker only works one day per week?
One day per week can easily exceed 24 hours per month. For example: 8 hours × 4 weeks = 32 hours/month. This triggers UIF registration requirements. Use our calculator on the home page to estimate.
UIF & COIDA
UIF vs COIDA — what's the difference?
UIF: ~2% of pay (1% employee + 1% employer) for unemployment, maternity, illness, death benefits — monthly UI-19 declarations.
COIDA: annual assessment; covers work injury, disability and death benefits through the Compensation Fund.
Who pays UIF — you or PaySlipPro?
You remain responsible for paying UIF contributions and setting up beneficiaries at your bank. PaySlipPro prepares submissions and keeps you organised — we don't move money on your behalf.
How do I pay UIF contributions?
After registration, you'll receive banking details for UIF payments. You make monthly payments via EFT/bank transfer. We provide the calculated amounts and submission forms via your dashboard.
Is COIDA really required for domestic workers?
Yes. Following the Constitutional Court judgment in Mahlangu v Minister of Labour (2020), COIDA coverage is mandatory for domestic workers. Employers can face penalties and personal liability for workplace injuries without proper registration.
Payslips & Process
Monthly changes & payslip timing
Send changes (leave, OT, salary updates, new staff) to changes@payslippro.co.za by the 20th of the month. No email if nothing changed. Payslips are issued around the second-last working day of the month unless you request otherwise.
What if I pay weekly or daily?
Payslips are required each time you pay. We can accommodate weekly or daily payslip schedules — contact us to discuss pricing for higher-frequency payslip generation.
Can I generate payslips myself?
After registration, you'll have access to your dashboard where you can view and download payslips. For DIY payslip generation, we recommend staying subscribed to ensure BCEA compliance and accurate UIF calculations.
Pricing & Billing
Is the R499.99 fee once-off or recurring?
The R499.99 is a one-time compliance registration fee for the full compliance package. Individual services are priced separately: UIF Registration (R349.99), COIDA Registration (R349.99), and Payslip Service (R129.99/month).
Can I cancel my payslip subscription?
Yes. Payslip subscriptions require 1 month notice to cancel. The compliance registration fee is non-refundable as services are rendered upon registration.
Do you offer refunds?
The registration fee is non-refundable once onboarding begins (we submit to government departments on your behalf). Payslip subscription refunds are pro-rated if you cancel with proper notice.
Technical & Security
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use SSL encryption for all data transmission, secure servers for storage, and are POPIA-conscious in our data handling. We only collect information necessary for compliance registration and payslip generation.
Who has access to my information?
Only authorized PaySlipPro staff and the relevant government departments (DOL, SARS, Compensation Fund) as required for registration. We never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
What is POPIA compliance?
The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) is South Africa's data protection law. We comply by: collecting only necessary data, storing it securely, allowing you to access/correct your information, and having a designated Information Officer (Melanie Coetzee) — contact details available on request.
Getting Started
How long does onboarding take?
Typically under 8 minutes if you have documents ready (ID numbers, addresses, employment start dates). After submission, domestic employer registration takes ~48 hours for initial steps; full confirmations from government funds may take 7–14 working days.
What documents do I need?
You'll need: your ID/passport number, physical address, contact details, and the same for each employee. Also helpful: employment start dates, hourly rates, and hours worked per week.
Can I register multiple employees?
Yes! During onboarding you can add multiple employees. Payslip service pricing is R129.99 per employee per month.
